Ahh Graduation....

Six and a half years ago I graduated from high school. Today I finally graduated from college. What a great experience my time at Flagler was! God has been working behind the scenes of my life to bring some fantastic people and experiences into my life. I realized today that I am a different man. If I had stayed on track and graduated two years ago I would have missed out on a ton of great experiences and times of growth. I am so thankful for all of my friends and family. In truth you are all my family, I love you all and without you I would not have made it, thank you so much! In six months, God willing, life for me will begin anew. In six months I may be in a new part of the country trying to exist without the people that have shaped me. I realize that you will all forever be a part of me and my life and I can't wait to tell my new friends all about you (they will be terribly jealous). This may seem a bit mushy but it is something I have felt for some time now. I am excited for the future and I am excited for the many blessings I have not yet received. In a few years we will all be able to look to one another and see the people we have been talking about becoming. I don't know what else to say, except thank you. Thank you God for such an amazing group of friends, thank you for working in your time and taking my desires into account. Thank you, my friends, for being the best a guy could hope for, and thank you for loving me. This is not the end. We will all be reunited. Our lives may call us away from one another from time to time but we will always be connected.
What does the future hold for me? I am going to work my arse off. I need to save money for moving and visiting those of you who have moved. For the immediate future I need to study for the GRE with the intention of taking it in january. Then hopefully send out my application in early February to George Mason. Most immediately I will be resting, and catching up on some reading. If you care I did well this semester. I finished strong. An A in substance abuse an A in behavior modification and a B in Contemporary Theological Thought, as well as passing both of my internships. That gives me a 3.18 overall GPA, with a 3.67 for the semester my best yet! Well, thats all I have to say for the moment I am exhausted it has been a long day!

Senioritis and some reflection

Senioritis, from the word senior plus the suffix -itis, is a colloquial term used in the United States to describe the decreased motivation toward studies displayed by students who are nearing the end of their college careers.
I have heard of it but I never had to really contend with it. My senior year of high school was stupid easy so senioritis was not a problem. This semester people joked that I might struggle with it. I just laughed it off and said no way I know I have to do well so it wont effect me. I was wrong! This is the last week of classes and right now I know that no matter how poorly I do on my final projects and exams I will graduate. That knowledge is making it hard to do well. So today is the last day I will allow myself to slack rather then work. Tomorrow I will wake up and continue the race with the intentions of finishing strong.
It has been a long difficult semester! I have grown more in my understanding of theology and God this semester more then any other time in my life I think. Even before I knew Christ I had some understanding of God. After I met Christ my understanding of him grew and my love of God intensified. This semester my understanding of God has increased and so my love of him and Christ through him has grown. I see now why Jeff and Zach got so excited about their classes and why they always wanted to discuss the theology they encountered there. I wish I could go back with the experience I have had and join those discussions with them. Not being able to carry on the theological debates outside of class with my brothers in Christ has been the worst part about the class. I have involved my roommates but I first have to catch them up before we can engage in a solid discussion. All that to say I got mad respect for religion philosophy majors.

The Library

I am here in the library yet again!! I figured it out some time ago, I spend roughly 20 hours a week in the library. That is disgusting. Now, not all of that time is productive. Sometimes I am on facebook or writing blogs. I just finished reading Patient Safety Organizations: A Compliance Self Assessment Guide. Sounds awesome huh? I actually liked it<---- kinda sick huh? Anyway, I was sitting here thinking that in 12 days I will be a college graduate. That is sooo awesome. I got a solid B on my Theology paper for Dr. Johnson. He said that I had improved a lot and that I should be proud of the work that I have done this semester. High praise from him! I hope that this PSO internship will turn into a job.... it want to keep working on it regardless so getting paid for it would be nice! Well thats all for now just a brief glimpse into what I am thinking and praying about.

It seems that it's time.

Everyone else is hopping on the blog train, so I guess it's my turn. I am not sure how this is going to play out but I imagine two possible scenarios. One, I do this initial blog and pretty much never again return to this. Two, I get hooked and you all respond to my writings and well this becomes the first of many. For now I have created a blog and that is a big step! Now friends..... find me entice me to return.
